The Cannonball Legacy Band July 5, 2008

Louis Hayes and Vince Herring are the perfect bandleaders to mount a tribute to Cannonball. Drummer Hayes was a member of Cannonball's quintet from 1959-65 while alto saxophonist Herring was heavily influenced by Adderley in his formative years and also played with Nat's quintet. Together Hayes, known for his energetic, unrelenting swing, and Herring, a Chamber Jazz audience favorite and a formidable talent in his own right, have amassed some of the hottest jazzmen around to pay tribute to a great master of the saxophone.
