A huge Off-Broadway success, 'The Boys Next Door' is indeed a very funny, but yet very touching play that focuses on the lives of four mentally handicapped men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a sincere, but increasingly despairing social worker, who is feeling job burn-out, yet can't seem to separate himself from these men for whom he has taken care for years. Filled with humor, the play is also marked by the compassion and understanding with which it peers into the half-lit world of its handicapped protagonists.
