tttttttt

My family and I support the Humane Society through monthly donations. We do that because helping needy animals is the cause we choose to support. If the Humane Society is going to sponsor an event it should benefit animals and not some literacy program for people. After all it is a dog party. It is just like the time that I got an invite from the Hawaiian Humane Society for some stupid chocolates for breakfast black tie event that was suppose to benefits animals, and on the invite it read pets couldnt attend. First of all does the humane society know that chocolates is poisonious to dogs and what kind of a chartiy event sponsor by the humane society doesnt allow pets (my dog)?????? I will really have to rethink my donations in the future.

tttttttt, though your comment does raise some interesting questions about Humane Society's past sponsorships, please know that Behind the Book is an organization that strives to inspire students to be engaged and informed citizens and leaders; the very people who support and protect animal rights. This benefit will help provide our students with the literacy and reading capabilities to impact their communities and beyond. And as you can see from the invite, dogs are welcome at the event. Guests will also have the opportunity to adopt a pet at the event. So, you and your dog are more than welcome to attend.

The event will also help to highlight the work of Bill Berloni, legendary animal trainer, author, and activist. Berloni has spent his entire year helping to rescue and protect animals in conjunction with the Humane Society of New York.
