Emmy-winning broadcasters Bill Webb and Curt Gowdy, Jr. of SNY, the TV home of the New York Mets, will give fans a rare inside look at the art and craft of televised baseball during a special program at Museum of the Moving Image. The program, held in the new theater of the just-reopened Museum, celebrates the inauguration of an updated and improved display within the Museum's core exhibition, re-creating the environment of a TV control room. The display allows visitors to see and hear Webb as he directs SNY's broadcast of an inning of the June 10, 2010 game between the New York Mets and the San Diego Padres. The program will feature Webb and Gowdy in conversation with Museum chief curator David Schwartz. Together, they will discuss the rapid-fire decision-making and the technology needed to create a seamless broadcast.
