Solano Avenue
Berkeley / Albany, California

On Sunday, Sept. 10, mile-long Solano Avenue in Berkeley and Albany turns into the Bay Area's biggest block party, drawing more than 250,000 festival attendees.
The parade starts at 11. The theme this year is 'Send in the Clowns.' Dress up and join the parade.
After the parade, the Stroll kicks into high gear, featuring 90 entertainers, 65 food booths, 140 juried crafts, wacky art cars, and 200 community organizations. You'll hear the best in local music and will enjoy the food! Fried Cajun calamari, jerk chicken, charcoaled lamb, grilled onions, crayfish etouffe to name just a few! Yum!
NASCAR brings in driving fun for all and Habitot lets you play in a waterfall feature.
Want to dunk a VIP or take a dunk yourself? Visit the dunk tank at Santa Fe but BYO towel. For the youngsters, there's Kidtown, with giant slides, pony rides, carnival games, clowns, stilt walkers, face painters, jugglers, and much more.
Stop by Environmental Alley between Masonic and Evelyn where you can learn all about getting green.
So put on your strollin' shoes, your best clown outfit, leave the dog at home, and get ready for too much happiness!

I've been to the Stroll for something like 10 years in a row. I never miss it!
