ITRINEGY WITHOUT A REALISTIC ENVIRONMENT, SOFTWARE TESTING IS MEANINGLESS
Today applications are required to work in all types of networks (WAN, Wireless, Satellite etc) so if your testing procedures don't include checking how software functions and performs in these environments, how can you say that you are doing your job properly!

Frank Puranik will first explain how networks can influence the way in which applications perform and why testing in WAN/Wireless environments is so important. He will go on to outline how you can now affordably create authentic WAN conditions and offer realistic WAN software performance testing in the lab or even from the comfort of your own desk.

How can we successfully communicate all of these benefits to management?

Using examples from our experience of delivering performance testing, often including offshore elements, we will draw out the key principles for success. Find out which elements of performance testing can be successfully offshored and how to choose and implement the offshore model that is right for your test team. With Alan Gordon.

ORIGINAL SOFTWARE BLOWING THE WHISTLE ON THE GREAT SOFTWARE TESTING SWINDLE
For many reasons, full automation is often not the answer to your testing problems. You may have very heavily tested, complex business-critical applications where the prospect of full automation is simply too daunting; you may be approaching testing for the first time, or you may simply find automation not appropriate or to difficult to make successful.

Historically there has been no sensible alternative to full automation - it has been "all or nothing"...until now.

Find out how you can make remarkable savings in time, cost and resource initially without automation, and at the same time start to progressively build an automation strategy at your own pace. With George Wilson, operations director

THE QBIT KEYNOTE
CONFESSIONS OF AN AGILE TEST TEAM
Expedia is a company of unique and interesting challenges for software development - a business that demands the ability to turn on a dime, a mixed technology environment (Java, .Net and legacy C++ code bases), extensive third party integration, and globally distributed development teams. Many of these factors make agile development challenging but also extremely beneficial.

We have all heard the benefits of working agile. But we have also heard the pains of getting test to work in an agile methodology. When do you write test plans? How do I make time to get automation done? How do you avoid the mini waterfall? What pragmatic compromises can you make? Hear one team's confessions of working in an agile development cycle and how they make it work, everyday.

Presented by Bernard Miles, Stan Wozniak, Amy Heinen and Jean‑Jacques Ledoux of Expedia.
