Terry O’Reilly: “Why it’s More Important to be Surprising than Consistent”

The Faculty of Design at OCAD invites you to a free talk by writer/director and CBC Radio One host Terry O’Reilly. O’Reilly has worked in the creative departments of some of the most award-winning ad agencies in Canada, including Campbell-Ewald, Lowe Goodgoll, DDB and TBWA\Chiat\Day. He is the co-founder of Pirate, which specializes in writing and directing radio commercials, and the creation of music and sound for television. Pirate is now the largest and most award-winning audio production company in Canada, with nine recording studios in Toronto and New York, three production suites, a sound-effects division, a casting company and a branded entertainment department.

O’Reilly hosts “The Age of Persuasion” on CBC Radio One, which explores the countless ways marketers permeate media, art, language, politics, religion, and fashion. He has won over 400 national and international awards for writing and directing. In January 2009, O’Reilly will be inducted into the Marketing Hall of Legends.
