Sydney Youth Orchestras is one of Sydney’s most exciting and vibrant arts organisations, presenting the new generation of outstanding musicians in concerts full of innovation, passion and vitality.

Sydney Youth Orchestras is tremendously proud to feature Teddy Tahu Rhodes in Brahms’ soul-searching and consoling Four Serious Songs. Also featured in the program are Webern’s lyrical and delicate early work Im Sommerwind and Strauss’ huge masterpiece Thus Spake Zarathustra.

There are very few moments in music as recognisable as the opening of Thus Spake Zarathustra ever since Kubrick featured it in his film 2001: A Space Odyssey. It has since gone on to become one of the iconic phrases of orchestral music. That is however merely the introduction to a magnificent work of music which explores the deepest questions of life.

Teddy Tahu Rhodes With The SYO will be a truly exciting, colourful and exhilarating concert as it is not often that an audience have the opportunity to experience one of Opera’s brightest stars, Teddy Tahu Rhodes with one of Sydney’s, if not Australia’s most vibrant and talented youth orchestras, Sydney Youth Orchestras.
