Turner Classic Movies (TCM), the authority in classic film, will stage the network’s second annual film festival in the heart of Hollywood. Much of the programming will be part of the festival’s multi-faceted celebration of Music and the Movies, including outstanding composers, great songwriters and the unique role music plays in the art of filmmaking. Festival programming will also include a number of discoveries, significant restorations and special events that will be announced in the coming weeks. This landmark celebration of the history of Hollywood and its movies will be presented in a way that only TCM can, with major events, celebrity appearances, panel discussions and more. The four-day festival will also provide movie fans a rare opportunity to experience some of cinema’s greatest works as they were meant to be seen – on the big screen.

All screenings – more than 70 in all – will include special introductions to provide context about each film. With multiple world premieres and anniversary celebrations, the four-day event will kick off with the 60th anniversary world premiere restoration of An American in Paris (1951). Other special anniversary presentations throughout the festival include a 50th anniversary world-premiere restoration of the romantic comedy-drama Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), the world premiere of the 35th anniversary digital restoration of the Clint Eastwood western The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), the world premiere of a 60th anniversary restoration of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), the west coast premiere of a 50th anniversary restoration of Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita (1960) and a 35th anniversary screening of the Paddy Chayefsky-penned Network (1976).

Attendees will include TCM primetime host Robert Osborne and co-host of The Essentials Alec Baldwin. Among the numerous talents slated to attend and talk about their work are Alec Baldwin, Warren Beatty, Cari Beauchamp, Donald Bogle, Kevin Brownlow, Leslie Caron, Roger Corman, Illeana Douglas, Kirk Douglas, Angela Lansbury, Leonard Maltin, Rose McGowan, Hayley Mills, Peter O’Toole, Ron Perlman, Jane Powell, Debbie Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, Richard Roundtree, Nancy and Tina Sinatra with more to be announced over the next several weeks. In addition, TCM weekend-daytime host Ben Mankiewicz will take part in introducing films during the festival.
