E-mail this
McMansions are muscling their way into communities across America, from historic New England hamlets to the Bay Area's own techno-boom suburbs. Who are the victims? Smaller existing homes, which are being purchased and razed as part of the national ethos that bigger equals better. Not so fast, says Moe. He will present a warning about the teardown trend's disturbing effects €“ from accelerating urban sprawl problems to increasing traffic gridlock €“ whose impact will affect us all.
