Curious about the establishment of a second roller derby league in Denver?

First released in 2007, Talk Derby to Me “chronicles the efforts of a self-described ‘bunch of oddballs’ with a big desire to establish flat-track roller derby in Denver. No matter that these women haven’t roller skated in years, or ever in some cases. They just want to skate. And knock each other into next week. With on-rink personas like Manslaughter, Kaos, Rugburn and Rockett, it’s not surprising that eyes are blackened, egos bruised and relationships shattered along the way. Talk Derby to Me goes inside the flat-track roller derby phenomenon to discover why women love skating roller derby and fans love watching them. Women owned-and-operated flat-track roller derby has sprung up in more than 100 cities across the U.S., and it’s a phenomenon that only the derby girls themselves can explain. Talk Derby to Me features wicked-fast skating, backroom brawling, and a roll-the-dice attitude that leads 26 women to risk everything for the chance to create something invaluable, a place where they can truly be themselves. Talk Derby to Me is a Let’s Be Frank production, produced, written and directed by Frank X. Hogan in association with the Denver Roller Dolls.”

On Nov. 1, 2009 come learn how the Denver Roller Dolls league came into existence. After the showing, stay for an exclusive meet-and-greet with Director/Producer Frank X. Hogan. Several of the league’s founders will also be in attendance.

There is no cost to view the short film, but donations will be accepted. Drink specials will be available for those who donate at least $5. Denver Roller Dolls merchandise will also be available for sale.

Note: This film has language and content that is not suitable for young children.
