Title: New Frontiers of Social Gaming

If you have not played a social game on the web, you probably have not heard of the people competing hard in social gaming. Just after a few years into the social gaming era, it has become clear that people can do a lot of useful things beyond growing vegetables. The gamification fire is spreading to almost every corner now. This SVForum event will showcase innovative applications of social gaming in non-game industries, followed by an up-to-date view of current VC investment in this exciting space.

Confirmed speakers include:
* Adam Bosworth, CTO of Keas
* Kris Duggan, CEO of Badgeville
* Lumos Labs (leader in brain training games)
* Tim Chang, Partner from NVP

Adam Bosworth will discuss why Gamification is not only effective in improving most users health and wellness, but essential. At Keas we ended up being a laboratory for what happens when you try to help users to improve their health and wellness habits using a highly personalized education, data explanation, and reminders/alerts system versus what happens when you use a fairly unpersonalized game and what we call the Power of Play. In a nutshell. the Power of Play is massively more effective. The presentation will discuss both the data, a VERY quick demo, and why this is true.
