Redpoint Ventures

We founded Redpoint with a single vision. Partner with exceptional entrepreneurs to help build companies that define industries and shape the future. This kind of bold undertaking does not come easy and as partners in this process, we bring more than just capital. With over 100 collective years of experience and over $2 billion under management—including 34 IPOs and 54 upside acquisitions—we know what it takes to succeed.

Commitment Changing the world is hard work. That's why Redpoint partners with entrepreneurs every step of the way, bringing deep market knowledge and contacts as well as operational expertise. Through the ups and downs, we strive to be the entrepreneur's closest and most loyal ally. We're hands-on—ready to roll up our sleeves and do whatever it takes. We're collaborative, bringing a valuable vantage point that stems from having worked with hundreds of start-ups. We pride ourselves on being open and direct at all times. Ultimately, we want to be the venture partner entrepreneurs value most.

Experience Redpoint Ventures was formed in 1999 with partners from Brentwood Venture Capital and Institutional Venture Partners, two firms that have been successfully investing in technology since the early days of venture capital. We offer a deep bench of experienced partners with success in building companies throughout the technology industry. All of us have established track records—from early investments in industry pioneers like TiVo, NetFlix, Ask Jeeves, Foundry Networks and Juniper Networks to exciting new companies such as MySpace, Calix, MobiTV, BigBand Networks, Fortinet, Right Media and HomeAway. With a critical mass of partners in each of our focus areas, we bring the full weight of the partnership to every endeavor. This collective experience provides us with keen judgment on how to get things done right and insight into where things might go wrong.

Connections Relationships matter. They are essential to the success of all entrepreneurial ventures. We provide our companies with access to an expansive network of business leaders and seasoned executives. Entrepreneurs leverage these relationships to find new team members, forge strategic partnerships and identify customers.

Knowledge Redpoint partners have spent years developing domain and market expertise. This knowledge enables us to have a meaningful impact on companies that are tackling entirely new markets or redefining established ones. This knowledge also allows each of our partners to continually sharpen their point of view on where markets are heading. These insights are essential to helping us effectively advise our entrepreneurs.

Above All, Passion At Redpoint, we love the role we play in helping companies achieve their full potential. For us, there's nothing more satisfying than working closely with extraordinary individuals to help them achieve their dreams. Our work with entrepreneurs over the years has not only resulted in groundbreaking companies, but it has produced rewarding and lasting relationships.
