Submission deadline for Entrepreneurs wishing to presentat this event is 20th of the monthpreceding the event.

First Impressions provides SVASE entrepreneurs with the opportunity to present to and receive formal structured feedback from prominent members of the entrepreneurial and venture funding communities. This is a great way to gain first hand experience on pitching for Venture Capital, make connections with VCs and Angels, and get a clear understanding on how to move your business forward.

SVASE First Impressions Pitch Feedback events provide the opportunity for entrepreneurs and startup teams seeking their first round of funding, other than friends & family, to gain experience in creating and delivering a clear, concise pitch and in receiving structured feedback from a panel of experienced investors, on both their pitch and their business propositions.

Panelist Bios
Roy Sardina, General Partner, Keynote Ventures
Roy Sardiña is a successful venture capitalist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of investment and operating experience in the technology industry. Mr. Sardiña most recently was Managing Director at Steelpoint Capital (a spin-out of the private equity group of Moore Capital Management). He initiated the firm’s infrastructure investments in storage and security, including investments in Promptu, Boingo Wireless, Storactive (acquired by Atempo), Workshare, Arkivio, SNAP and Privasys.
Mr. Sardiña is also the Managing General Partner and one of the founders (along with Sun’s co-founders Andreas Bechtolsheim and Bill Joy) of HighBAR Ventures. Notable seed and early-stage investments include Brocade Communications (NASDAQ: BRCD), Tasmania Networks (acquired by Cisco), CDS (acquired by Maxtor), Viathan/Dantz (acquired by EMC), BrightMail (acquired by Symantec), CAW Networks (acquired by Spirent), SANLight (acquired by Quantum), NeoPath (acquired by Cisco), RedSeal Systems and Privasys. Mr. Sardiña worked closely with the founders and management teams in these companies assisting them with business development, strategic planning and financing.

Mr. Sardiña was also an EIR (Executive in Residence) at the Mayfield Fund. He evaluated the storage and security space for the firm and initiated Mayfield’s investment in Mendocino Software.

Before becoming an angel investor and venture capitalist, Mr. Sardiña was a highly regarded operating executive. He was co-founder & CEO of Ingrian Networks, a leading data privacy provider, and co-founder and CEO of Tasmania Network Systems, a cache proxy company (acquired by Cisco). He was also a member of the founding management team for Brocade Communications Systems (NASDAQ:BRCD). As Brocade’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development, he signed the company’s original OEM agreements.

Prior to Brocade, he worked at Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ:SUNW) for eleven years. While at Sun, Mr. Sardiña started the company’s Telco Business and grew it to 10% of Sun’s worldwide revenue. He later led Sun’s International Sales & Business Development Team (Asia, Japan, Latin America and AMEA), and subsequently was responsible for the company’s Corporate Development Organization in the office of the chairman.

Mr. Sardiña holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.B.A. from New York University, Stern School of Business.
