Ben Gales

Ben has been with 3i since 2000, working within the Venture Capital Team assessing new investment opportunities and looking after various 3i investments in software and hardware. Prior to 3i, Ben worked for HM Treasury, where he headed up their e-commerce unit, advising the chancellor on all aspects of government policy on e-business. Prior to this, he worked as a consultant for Andersen Consulting, now Accenture, in the banking and finance group. Ben has led 3i investments in a number of companies including Cambridge Semiconductor, Cachelogic and Light Blue Optics. Ben has been involved in a number of exits including the sale of Trigenix to Qualcomm. Ben specialises in software and IT hardware components. Ben has an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
