Since emerging at the forefront of the neo-folk movement in the early 80's, Suzanne Vega has enraptured audiences worldwide with her deep emotional performances. Her finely crafted musical poems, delivered by "a cool, dry sand-paper-brushed near whisper" of a voice, most often evoke images of city life and ordinary people coping with the difficulties inherent in childhood trauma, spiritual or physical illness, loneliness and love.
