Global Dubwize Vibes & Dread Bass Culture

Saturday September 22nd 2007 @ Club Six

This month Surya Dub welcomes the West Coast's answer to the UK Dubsteppers - Matty G (Argon), also up and comers Roots & Wires Sound Dimensional performing live audio/visual dubwize and S. Asian electronica, plus DJ Santero (Noches de Vudu/Mundo) dropping his eclectic worldwide mix!

MATTY G (Argon) – Matty G has become one of the biggest names currently in dubstep not only stateside but worldwide! Most notably for his breakthrough track "50,000 Watts" which has been dubbed an anthem by every major dj this year and pulling many rewinds at DMZ' 2 year anniversary. Matty played several instruments and discovered reggae in his youth, which he attributes as a pivotal point in his musical development. He says, "Dubstep has provided me with the opportunity to create beats that encompass reggae, as well as other musical influences like hip hop, rhythm and blues, and heavy percussion from Africa, Cuba, South America, and Asia. I love bass and drums." Expect heavy bass n drums and wicked Dubz as Surya Dub welcomes this West Coast icon!

ROOTS AND WIRES SOUND DIMENSIONAL (Live Audio Visual Dubwize Bashment) – Roots and Wires Sound Dimensional is a crew of two, headed by Special Agent K and Andy G. Born out of a synchronistic meeting over 10 years ago, Root and Wires has since traveled a varied sonic path. The sound's humble beginnings grew through an endless stream of one-off parties, warehouse sessions, club gigs, and raves from Texas to California and back again. Slowly but surely, Special Agent K and Andy G have built up their dubwise repertoire and sound skills. Now based in San Francisco, Roots and Wires Sound Dimensional continue to spread their dubwise gospel through the peaks and valleys of bass. Roots and Wires specialize in the ruffest and freshest sounds from vintage Jamaican dubwise and contemporary UK Steppers to original Junglist vibes, Asian-inflected Breakbeats, dubstep, and their own exclusive dubplates. Never merely content with just deejaying, Roots and Wires gigs take on the vibe of a live performance. At the hands of Special Agent K and Andy G, rootical outernational beats get manipulated through the Wires of modern laptop technology, outboard effects, syndrums, and the like.

SANTERO (Noches de Vudu/Mundo) DJ Santero is an Emcee/Composer & DJ/Producer whose music has garnered him a worldwide following. His multi-genre hits have made him a household name. He puts his soul into his musical creations and his music selection reflects a level of skill only developed through direct experience. You can catch him at his weekly "Noches de Vudu" party, the monthly "Mundo" world music showcase or hosting his radio show on Breakthruradio.com.

Surya Dub is the next level in Global Dubwize Vibes and Dread Bass Culture. Surya Dub is uniting all Dubwize sounds from Roots Reggae to Dubstep and Ragga to Dread Bass Breakbeat and Drum'n'Bass to Bhangra, South Asian Electronica and Global Bass Beat Bizness.
