Penn’s Peak would like to welcome Survivor with Special Guest Pat Travers Band!!

Survivor
Even though the band began in 1978, it was 1982’s breakthrough smash “Eye Of The Tiger” which turned their world upside down. The song remained #1 on the Billboard Charts for seven weeks and earned Survivor a Grammy for “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.” The accolades did not stop there, “Eye Of The Tiger” was voted Best New Song by The People’s Choice Awards and it received an Academy Award nomination. Still to this day, the song remains a cultural phenomenon and it is currently one of the most downloaded rock songs of all times. The band continued to have singles topping the charts throughout the 80’s – “The Search is Over,” “High On You” and “Is This Love,” just to name a few.
Survivor eventually split with their lead singer Jimi Jamison, who, much to the band’s chagrin, began touring again later in the 90’s as Survivor. The band reunited with Jamison and produced an album, Reach in 2006. Jamison left yet again, but now he is officially back and Survivor is touring hard and strong in 2012. Along with Jamison are band members Frankie Sullivan, Marc Droubay, Billy Ozzello and Walter Tolentino. They are working on a new album with an expected release in 2012.

Pat Travers Band
Prior to the Pat Travers Band, Pat had quite the solo career. His self titled debut album was released in 1976 and it featured Peter “Mars” Cowling. Cowling would become a mainstay in Travers’ band for years to come. By 1978, the Pat Travers Band is officially formed and releasing their album Heat In The Street. They began touring heavily, even opening for Rush on their Drive til You Die Tour. Their next release was a live album that charted in the Top 40. Live! Go For What You Know included their hit “Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights)” and was quickly followed by the 1980 album Crash and Burn which entered the Top 20.
The famous quartet delivered classy melodic 80’s rock and even some blues in the 90’s, but it was their hits of the 70’s that carved their name in the music world. Pat is a Canadian born guitarist, keyboardist and singer who many refer to as a legend. Just ask any of the “Hammer Heads”; the name for his large, loyal fan base. The Pat Travers Band was once again reunited and they have been rocking out both on stage and in the studio. “Fidelis,” their 2010 release “is quite simply one of the best Pat Travers releases of any era, by any line-up.” As quoted on the Pat Travers website, “From the streets of Toronto, to the streets of London, now, here to kick your ass…The Pat Travers Band.”
