Surfside's 9th Annual Summer Playwriting Contest Winner opens Friday June 12th.

"Whitman Awakens"
Written by Nancy Andrews and directed by Troy Jones

Set in the hills of the Kentucky
Appalachians, 'Whitman Awakens' is the story of a family whose patriarch is a grandfather who speaks only in phrases written by the poet Walt Whitman, and the steadfast love that binds 3 generations of the family together into the tapestry of life.
