Surfer Blood's debut album was released on January 19, 2010.

From the record label, Kanine Records:
Florida is not normally the state that you would think would produce a new sea of talented new bands. But lately a good amount of hard working and talented musicians have been producing some amazing new music out of the sunshine state. All of the good vibes that the state produces must of worn off on the new generation. Full of white sandy beaches, sidewalk surfing, fruity drinks, walking barefoot through tall green grass, and topped with a laid back atmosphere have truly entered these boys psychic as they have written one of the most uplifting albums to end the summer of 2009. And if you live in Florida, then it is summer all year round. So there is no need to pack up those shorts and sandals for the winter. Formed while in their college dorm room, this foursome has captured the true essence of what a holiday in Florida should be like. Filled with sunny harmonies, fuzzed-out guitars, reverb vocals, and catchy choruses, the boys make hook-filled indie rock with clever arrangements and superb harmonies. The songs contain a true feeling of skilled, but not overly polished songs, giving off a DIY esthetic. Once you hear “Swim (to reach the end)” it all falls perfectly in place as their lead single epitomizes the struggle of fighting with the ocean’s strong currents. Just like fighting against life’s daily struggles and rising above it all. Surfer Blood’s music hits home with fans of Weezer, Vampire Weekend, Beach Boys, The Shins, and Orange Juice. They have already garnished a ton of praise from Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, Spin, Rolling Stone, NME, Under The Radar Mag, Stereogum, and many more, so expect to hear a ton more from these boys. www.myspace.com/surferblood

Surfer Blood play the Drunken Unicorn with Monotonix later this night.
