Surf the Largest Screen in New England with Kelly Slater & Raimana! February 12, 2010

The world’s most iconic surfer, Kelly Slater, emerges on the giant screen in his first ever 3D IMAX® film appearance in The Ultimate Wave Tahiti, premiering Friday, Feb. 12 at the New England Aquarium’s Simons IMAX Theatre. Beyond the beauty and thrill of riding monster waves in 3D, this visually captivating film also explains the science behind the natural forces that create giant waves. Slater and famed Tahitian surf guide Raimana Van Bastolaer take on Teahupo’o, Tahiti’s most extreme surf break in this epic quest for the perfect wave.

To celebrate the film’s premiere on Feb. 12, the New England Aquarium campus will be dressed up with Polynesian flourishes – grass huts, paper lanterns, and banana trees – so families and guests can feel like they have also escaped to the tropics right in the middle of icy downtown Boston!
