Sunderland Pianoforte Society presents Ashley Wass
403rd Recital

In 1997 Ashley was the only English pianist to win first prize at the London International Piano Competition. Then he reached the final of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2000. He has now established himself as one of the leading musicians of his generation. His programming is imaginative and shows his interest in rarely played fine music. This is true, too, of his recordings. He is the first exclusive artist to Naxos. His concerts and tours are numerous as recitalist, soloist and chamber musician. We are very glad to have him back in Sunderland.

Programme
Beethoven: Sonata Op.81a “Les Adieux”
Arnold Bax: Sonata No.1 in F#minor (1910)
