SUMMERSTAGE: Boys Noize, Drop The Lime, Canyons
:: BUILT BY MEANRED::
Presented in partnership with Mishka and The Fader

Last summer, MeanRed Productions joined forces with Summerstage to bring Santogold, Diplo, A-Trak, Kid Cudi and other young musical influencers to Central Park.

On Saturday, August 8th, we are returning to celebrate the new dance music dons – the next generation of DJ / Producers whose beats are taking over international airwaves, festivals, and clubs.

Boys Noize
German born electro-tech Producer / DJ, Alex Ridha, aka Boys Noize, has been setting the pace for the international dance music scene since he was sixteen. His brash, maximalist music (sometimes recalling Daft Punk at their most boisterous moments) leave clubs torn apart and kids exhausted. His first ever single was used as a sample for Estelle's single American Boy featuring Kanye West. His remixes -- ranging from Tiga, Para One, and Feist, to Depeche Mode, Kaiser Chiefs, and Bloc Party – have been played by DJs such as Erol Alkan, SebastiAn, 2 Many DJ's, and Justice. On the eve of his new album, he headlines Summerstage for a day of sweaty dancing in the park.
Drop the Lime
More striking than Drop the Lime's slicked-back hair and gold tooth are his DJ sets, which are full of slapping beats and wobbly bass lines. Hailing from the NYC party crew Trouble & Bass, DTL has made a name for himself in nightlife culture from Miami to Milan. In the past, he has performed alongside the likes of A-trak, Moby, DJ AM, and Buraka Som Sistema, and has remixed such artists as Little Boots, Blaqstarr, Rex the Dog and Armand Van Helden.

Canyons Aussie space cowboys, Canyons, signed to Modular Records this Spring. True to their name, this DJ / Producer duo roll out expansive tracks that dip and peak, snaking from psych to acid to swampy house.

MeanRed From dim sum restaurants in Chinatown to industrial lofts in Clinton Hill, no place is safe from the tireless grip of MeanRed parties. In addition to owning and running the popular waterfront venue, BKLYN Yard, MeanRed works with various media outlets, talent agencies, art collectives and nightlife institutions to bring together the best music-based programming that NYC has to offer. Along with Man Man, Alpha Blondy / Lee Scratch Perry, & Dinosaur Jr, Dark Disco in the Park is part of an ongoing MeanRed curatorial series to highlight the importance of free entertainment arts and shared public space.

Mishka As an added treat, MeanRed is teaming up with Mishka -- premier Brooklyn-based lifestyle clothing brand whose style can be found on streets, in skateparks, and at tastemaker events across the country. Together they are creating custom T-shirts, posters and limited edition apparel inspired by the Summerstage line-up. The Dark Disco In The Park shirts will be given out to attendees throughout the day, and available (in limited quantities) for purchase online and at the Mishka store in Brooklyn.
