Structure Multifonctions is an installation, consisting of 81 aluminium plates that can be assembled in many different ways. Its creator, Nicolas Floc?h, regularly lends this ?building kit? to fellow artists of different disciplines, as a point of departure for new work. So far, eleven versions of the Structure Multifonctions have been created by choreographers, theatre makers, visual artists, tango dancers and other artists. KLAPSTUK #12 presents two existing versions by Rachid Ouramdane, Christian Rizzo & Nicolas Floc?h and the Dutch collective lisa. We have also invited the group Tarwater and the Norwegian choreographer Heine R. Avdal to create a new version.

Tarwater is one of the standard bearers of an exciting generation of German groups, including Mouse on Mars, Kreidler and To Rococo Rot. Their music fluctuates between traditional instruments and modern electronic music, between songs and soundscapes, but it is always surprisingly beautiful. Just like their recent the needle was traveling, their first album on the Morr label. This new phase of the Structure Multifonctions departs from existing Tarwater music, but integrates the building kit as a stage, a sound box or a percussion instrument.
