Can anyone sign up to play in the tournament? Any restrictions? Costs?

Hi Sinai,

I'm helping to raise awareness of this event and am happy to let you know further details. To play in the tournament, you need to be a post-secondary student in a Canadian University or College and be able to show valid student ID.
Beginning at 9am, at THE MOD CLUB, on the day of the Championship event, there are a few additional seats in the Championship tournament to be awarded. If you are among the best to compete that day, you may find yourself among the finalists that night who are playing for the $10,000 cash prize. The runner-up gets a new Vespa - also a great prize!
There is no cost to compete and the entrance to the Championship event is free as well!

how did u guys choose the 16 finalists? why are there only a few additional seats left?

NNL

Hi Mastercarbit,

Eight finalists were chosen during the Stride Gum Ridiculously Long Lasting Ping Pong Playoffs, which visited numerous university and college campuses across Canada over the past two months. One additional finalist seat was chosen by essay contest.

The remaining seats will be chosen during a final Toronto qualifier tournament, taking place in the morning and afternoon of March 26 at THE MOD CLUB. If you are currently a post-secondary student and enjoy playing ping pong, we would love to have you down to compete for one of the remaining seats! Each finalist receives $1,000 and is automatically in the running to win $10,000 at the Championship!
