"If only I were a lump of coal, I'd be a diamond by now."-Carol Lay

Can we all relate to this quote about feeling under pressure? It stands to reason that a healthy amount of stress is beneficial-without it, we wouldn't create rich, meaningful lives. However, when our stress levels rise our health and sense of well-being-both mental and physical-suffer.

Stress reduction meditation is a widely-accepted, non-invasive technique for relieving stress that is being practiced in hospitals and community health centers around the country. This 8 week series covers a wide range of meditation subjects and styles, focusing on:
* stress reduction techniques that help mitigate stress as it comes up;
* nourishing ourselves in order to change our relationship to stress before it occurs;
* grounding ourselves by connecting with the body;
* freeing ourselves by learning to living in the present moment;
* relieving our minds by relinquishing the trance of thought.

You will also receive written handouts, resource book lists and techniques to practice at home.

"Patty McLucas introduced me to meditation. She has guided me in such a way that I can achieve tranquility (quite a feat for me). I have no doubt that she can bring about this change with any student; she has the ability to alter how we handle stress."-Mare Preger, Burlingame
