Are current financial problems sweeping the country stressing you? Do you have less energy than usual? Do you have adrenal fatigue or metabolic syndrome? Perhaps your body is reacting to the stress of modern life, leading you into a downward spiral of chronic disease.

In his presentation, Dr. Wilson will discuss stress adaptation and how to overcome the debilitating effects of stress and poor diet. Part of his talk will be based on Dr. Selye's "General Adaptation Syndrome" (GAS). There are three phases to GAS: the alarm phase, phase of resistance, and phase of exhaustion. The adrenal glands secrete cortisol to adapt to stress. This process uses both low-density cholesterol and vitamin C. More cortisol increases blood sugar (glucose), leading to more insulin production, which can lead to the metabolic syndrome and diabetes and coronary heart disease. He will focus on what you can do to limit and even reverse both adrenal fatigue and metabolic syndrome.

Naturopathic physician James L. Wilson, Ph.D. (human nutrition), N.D., D.C. of Tucson, Arizona, is one of 14 founders of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. His book, "Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome", is in its 13th printing. He has been president of Future Formulations, a dietary supplement company since 1992. His talk will start at 8:00 pm.

There will also be a short presentation at the beginning by Phil Jacklin, Ph.D., Prevention and reversal of Alzheimer's disease with the big three: coconut oil, niacinamide, and curcumin.
