Strange Fruit’s fusion of theatre, dance and circus will amaze Houston audiences

Get ready to be amazed by Strange Fruit, an Australian performing arts group that fuses theatre, dance and circus together in a remarkable elevated medium. Performing at Discovery Green September 25 – 27 for their first Texas appearance, Strange Fruit will perform their work “Swoon!” and “The Spheres” on the Jones Lawn suspended above the audience. “Swoon!” is a spirited performance about love, loss, joy and freedom told by four elevated daredevil artists. “The Spheres” is a cosmic and awe-inspiring performance that takes a whimsical look at physics as four celestial beings emerge from and rise above giant illuminated globes.

Strange Fruit has performed in over 40 different countries to well over a million people at international festivals and events. Troupe performers are perched atop tall flexible poles that bend and sway in the air to seemingly impossible angles, creating a hypnotizing dance that audiences watch from below.
