The Memory of Running was chosen as the 2007 selection for the Reading Across Rhode Island program. The author, Ron McLarty, is a Rhode Island native that many will recognize from his recurring role as Judge Wright on Law and Order. He’ll be reading and discussing The Memory of Running prior to tonight’s musical performance.

The Folk Brothers are two of America's best songwriters, Jack Hardy and David Massengill. These two talented performers have known each other since they both moved to New York City in the mid-seventies, Jack from Colorado, David from Tennessee. In this era of pop-driven acoustic music, these two have dual-handedly kept the folk tradition alive in songwriting. Jack and David have shared many a stage together at clubs and festivals, been members of the weekly songwriters workshop since its inception, and worked on the Fast Folk Magazine together. And now they are a duo. Move over Simon and Garfunkel and Don and Phil.
