This seminar will be delivered by Steven Shaviro, the DeRoy Professor of English at Wayne State University, Detroit. Professor Shaviro is known for his books on film theory, (The Cinematic Body), theoretical fiction, (Doom Patrols), the network society (Connected, Or, What it Means to Live in the Network Society) and various articles on cultural theory and media. His new book, Without Criteria: Kant, Whitehead, Deleuze, and Aesthetics, will appear in Spring 2009 from MIT Press.
