Delayed by an unexpected summer of promotion for his critically-acclaimed debut novel, The Lake, the River & the Other Lake, Ann Arbor writer and sometime musician Steve Amick belatedly launches his summery CD, "THERE'S ALWAYS PIE?" This quirky collection of twelve originals, co-produced with Jim Roll with mixing help from Brian Lillie, features guest appearances by many local pals, some of whom will be on hand to perform more intimate versions of his songs. At times evocative of Jonathan Richman, Lou Reed and Ring Lardner, The Washington Post described Amick the songwriter as "a cheerful black humorist who is seriously askew."
