In Steel Magnolias, the audience joins six strong but distinctly different Southern women as they gab about life, love, and fashion at Truvy's salon, where all the ladies who are anybody come to have their hair done. Ever-optimistic Truvy, and her eager assistant Annelle style Clairee, the widow of the former mayor, the acerbic but loveable curmudgeon Ouiser, as well as a socially prominent career woman M'Lynn and her daughter Shelby, the prettiest girl in town.
