StarStruck Theatre has been dazzling audiences with their award winning youth theatre productions since 1995. This anniversary season opens with the American musical theatre classic, The Music Man, with book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson. The show is based on a story by Willson and Franklin Lacey. The production features a twenty piece orchestra and a cast of seventy of the Bay Area’s most talented youth performers. This family favorite will have you tapping your toes and singing along to memorable tunes such as, "Seventy-Six Trombones," "Wells Fargo Wagon" and "Till There Was You."
River City’s got Trouble . . . with a capital “T” that rhymes with “C” that stands for con. When everyone’s favorite con man, Harold Hill, steps off the train and into the lives of the stubborn River City Iowans his glittering scam unfolds before the audience! With the intention of grabbing the cash and skipping town, he poses as a band leader selling instruments and uniforms to create a River City Boys’ Band. The plan goes awry when he finds himself changed by love and the acceptance of an open-hearted and transformed River City. The old-fashioned setting underscores the timeless message of the power of new ideas, music, and the arts.
