Starr County Fair February 25, 2009

The 2009 Starr County Fair is scheduled for Thursday, February 26th through Saturday, February 28th.

DUELO will be performing on Thursday evening. Albert Zamora will headline on Friday night, and Country Roland will take the stage on Saturday with Sons of the Rio Grande.

The youth of Starr County enter projects in many competitive divisions, including livestock, arts and crafts, baking, art, farm shop and educational posters. Other highlights include a Saturday morning parade at 10:00, carnival, roping, petting zoo, youth scrambles, food and fun events for the entire family.

This year's theme is “Hats Off to our Youth”. Tickets at the gate are $5.00 per day for adults and $3.00 for children.

The annual Wild Game Dinner will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009. For more information on this event, contact Rio Motor Company at 956-487-2596.

The fair is run entirely by volunteers and all proceeds benefit the youth of Starr County.
