The Conservatory comes into bloom long before the outside gardens show signs of renewed life. Tropical plants like Bird of Paradise, Powderpuff tree and Angel's Trumpet flower at will throughout the winter and spring. In January, the seasonal display beds are transformed into a spring garden. Snapdragons, florists' stock, bell of Ireland, regal geraniums, and nasturtiums are some of the more familiar garden flowers on display. But tropical plants are also in the mix, with cymbidium orchids, lemon trees and jasmine adding to the vibrant tapestry of colors and fragrances.
