The public has a rare opportunity to pick a lasting and affordable work of hand-made art glass in time for Spring and Mother's Day when Cohn-Stone Studios opens its doors for one of only two times annually. The Mediterranean-style garden at Cohn-Stone Studios is in bloom and full of affordable and elegant hand-made art glass treasures for spring. In challenging economic times, collectors are finding satisfaction and value in hand-made art glass that allows them to select their family heirlooms of the future right now at extremely affordable prices with the added value of a direct connection to the artists who created it. The May 1-3 fun family event at Cohn-Stone Studios will feature demonstrations of glass-making and world-class art glass for every taste. The Bay Area public will be able to meet glass artists, watch them work and learn about the process of making glass.

Hundreds of examples of the glass-blowers art will be on display including fruits in many colors, flowers, leaves in many sizes, leaf-inspired and other vases plus other award-winning work. New this year is a selection of hand-made glass flowers such as sunflowers, trillium, chrysanthemums, peonies, poppies, magnolias, and new glass mushrooms with classic white-spotted red caps or classic brown varieties. Fanciful fruits from apples and pears to pomegranates and spring colored pumpkins and gourds will fill the garden and studio.

Cohn-Stone's award-winning work was featured last fall in a successful exhibition at famed Longwood Gardens, the former DuPont estate in Pennsylvania. An unprecedented 142,000 visitors flocked to the historic gardens to view Cohn-Stone glass pumpkins and gourds displayed in a huge cornucopia in the Gardens' music room.

Artworks produced by Cohn-Stone Studios are highly sought-after for their exotic, nature-inspired forms ranging in size from a few inches in diameter to dramatic large-scale museum-quality pieces, and especially their colors and finishes.
