China, once known as a center of cheap, unskilled labor and low-cost manufacturing, is emerging as a knowledge and R&D center, and migrating up the technology industry value chain. This subtle and underreported shift has not gone unnoticed by those who finance technology ventures and run businesses, a number of whom have recently set up shop in China. The combination of Chinese entrepreneurial spirit and western funding is increasing China’s global stature and could potentially reduce the United States’ dominance in this field. Or could it?

This panel discussion will feature prominent figures from the technology and financial communities with extensive experience in both the United States and China.

Rebecca Fannin, International Editor, Asian Venture Capital Journal; Author, Silicon Dragon
