LITCHFIELD, N.H. — Seeking thrills and chills this Halloween season? Look no further than Mel’s Funway Park LLC., to find SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England, the most frightening, haunted destination in the northeast. The gates creep open on Friday, Oct. 2.

Victims will tiptoe through seven horrifying haunts. They will encounter the creatures that fester below as they are “Buried Alive.” They will dare to enter “Raven’s Claw Cemetery,” where corpses and zombies lurk in the fog that blankets the freshly dug graves. They’ll shield themselves from the blood thirsty vampires of “Night Feeders,” and will hear and smell all that go bump in the night in the “House of Eternal Darkness.” The most mentally disturbing displays of human character are laid bare in “Demented.” And our greatest fears about toxic wastelands come true in “The 3D Freakshow,” which aims to disorient and shock guests, literally. Can’t sleep? Check into “Sleep Stalkers.” Patients in this hospital suffer from insomnia, which slowly drives them insane.

Guests who make it out alive can catch their breath by participating in the sideshow attractions located onsite: a live metal-grunge band performance, Zombie paintball, go-cart racing, mini-golf, food, drink and more. With the vastly expanded “Monster Midway,” doubled concessions, more games and rides, and parking spanning 25 acres, SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England promises to make Halloween not just a holiday but a destination.
SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England is located at 454 Charles Bancroft Highway, Route 3A, Litchfield, N.H., a 45 minute drive northwest of Boston. Tickets are sold from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Oct. 2-4; 9-12; 15-18; 22-25; and 28-31, 2009. Ticket prices range from $29.99 to $49.99*. For more information, visit www.SpookyWorld.com.
