SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England Returns to Terrify the Region September 24, 2010

LITCHFIELD, N.H. — Halloween lovers and haunt-a-holics unite! SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England, the most frightening haunted destination in the Northeast is back, taking terror to new levels. The gates creep open Friday, Sept. 24.

With three new attractions and four redesigned haunts, victims will experience 40 acres of screaming excitement. Whether it’s snakes that make you squirm, heights that make you tremble or bloodied chainsaw-toting-madmen that send you running, no one is safe from what is lurking inside the largest scream park in New England.

Prepare to dig your own grave in the Catacombs and take a disturbing trip through the woods to find the inhabitants of The Colony, just don’t let them find you first. Navigate your way through the House of Eternal Darkness, and don’t disturb the creatures in Raven’s Claw Cemetery, where corpses and zombies lurk in the fog that blankets freshly dug graves. Try to keep your footing in the 3D Freakshow, where you never know what might pop-up. Can’t sleep? Check into Sleep Stalkers. Patients in this hospital suffer from insomnia, which slowly drives them insane. TORMENT has something for everyone. Check your phobias at the door before coming face to face with arachnids, serpents, tight spaces and more.

Then catch your breath at the sideshow attractions onsite: music nightly, Zombie paintball, go-cart racing, mini-golf, restaurants, bars and more. Early-scream specials include $15 tickets on opening night, Friday, Sept. 24 and buy two tickets for the price of one on Saturday, Sept. 25.

SpookyWorld / Nightmare New England is located at 454 Charles Bancroft Highway, Route 3A, Litchfield, N.H., a 45 minute drive northwest of Boston. Ticket booth sales begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24 and on all nights of operation. Ticket booth sales close at 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 10:30 p.m. on all other nights of operation.
