390 Valencia Streeet @ 15th
San Francisco, California 94103

Have you ever stood on the edge of a cliff and shouted your name for the world to hear? Remember the rush you got?

SFPCN will help put that passion back into your networking next week in an event we call Speed Networking led by Jim Dowling and George Main.

We are building on The Power of Hubs program that opened 2011. At that session we heard a strong desire to learn more about your fellow SFPCN members so that natural groupings could occur based on common interests, values or objectives. The Hub program also taught the value of connecting to get what you need and delivering gifts you have to share. During the speed networking session, you will be able to achieve both of these objectives.

You will be paired with a series of partners to practice your presentation and listening skills while also learning about the other amazing people in the SFPCN community who might make the perfect collaborator. You will get the opportunity to practice over and over, until you are completely comfortable in your skin – pitching to get what you want and listening to help others. You will say with passion who you are, what you do, what you need, and what you are looking for. You will in turn listen to hear and understand what’s being said and respond with questions or suggestions that show you heard and understood.

We'll structure the pitch using Drew Wahl’s The Introduction formula:

* I am statement
* I have statement
* I’m seeking statement

You can refresh your memory or learn firsthand about Drew’s The Introduction by visiting the SFPCN past programs webpage for his September 21, 2010 presentation, where you will find an overview of the program and the audience’s comments. You can find Drew’s “Successful Elevator Pitch” PowerPoint slide show in the Files section of the SFPCN website under the title “Presentation 120 Elevator Pitch Ver 4.0”. It’s a great and valuable slide show.

Jim and George will conduct a brief workshop at the top of the meeting to see that you are ready to speed network – both to deliver and to receive. Then the fun will begin as you give a shout to be heard and lend your ear to hear and help.

Join us to learn, practice, and have fun. No one’s falling off a cliff, guaranteed!

The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp and will run 1.5 hours. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. to allow for open networking, which will also take place after the presentation.
