An exploration in capturing found objects.

What's a ReBox? If you've ever wanted to make shadow boxes but are concerned about the rising price of silver. ReBox may be the answer! In this special 2 Day Workshop Patrik will guide us through the process of making shadow boxes from copper sheet using the ReBox system. The ReBox system uses templates, and a custom jig to easily make shadow boxes from copper sheet or any other metal. Because the system is reusable, it offers a simple way to make multiple boxes quickly. This is perfect for make a 'Series" of work. We'll start off making a rectangular box but other shapes are available for purchase.

We'll explore adding textures to our designs and also explore heat patinas, cold water patinas and other unique options to add color and depth to the shadow boxes.

We'll also learn about a sure fire way to make perfect rivets every time using the Crafted Findings Riveting Machine. We'll customize our boxes using various shaped metal blanks , rivets and design elements. By riveting these layers and design elements onto the shadow box we'll be creating a unique custom look.

The next step to fill the shadow boxes with treasures! Bring lots of tiny trinkets and found objects to fit inside of the shadow boxes. We'll compose the found objects then freeze them in time with UV Resin. Patrik will explain the different types and proper uses of resin. We'll explore the use of colored resin, inclusions and how to create a transparent effects with resin.

As an added bonus we'll create a other projects using design elements such as, easy resin domed earring using magazines as a design element, quick and easy bracelet using prefab components and rivets as design elements.

To finish things off we'll explore the using Guilders Paste to beautiful rich color to our designs.

You'll leave with and handful of designs: shadow boxes, earrings, bracelets and pendants.

Other projects using all three techniques will be demoed as well depending on appropriateness and level of interest.
