On Saturday 11th June 2011, the Southern Sounds festival comes to Clapham Common. A one off chance to hook up with friends and party with new ones. This will be the biggest Australian, New Zealand and South African gathering in Europe. An opportunity to celebrate your nationality alongside thousands of others with a whole host of attractions from south of the Equator! Southern Sounds will feature a selection of the greatest musicians, well stocked bars, amusement park rides, surf simulators, bucking crocodiles and London’s largest BBQ sizzle! Don’t miss this big day out on Clapham Common!

Headlining Southern Sounds is one of the world's great bands, Australia’s INXS. With a career spanning 25 extraordinary years and 30 million albums sold, INXS return to the UK for their first performance in London in five years. Alongside INXS we welcome Shihad, a band who have supported AC/DC, had three #1 albums and ranked 1st equal for the most top 40 charting singles in their home country of New Zealand. On the main stage we also present the most successful rock band ever from South Africa, Just Jinjer alongside fellow countrymen Goldfish and New Zealand’s I Am Giant. They will be joined by DJ Yoda, one of the world’s great scratch DJs, so much so that Q Magazine declared him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”. Completing the main stage lineup is XFM’s Eddy Temple Morris and Rob Diverted.

Over in the first of our massive indoor arenas, Homelanz take control with special live acts Jayson Norris, Townhall Steps, Lotus Mason, Melic and Cape Fear. Finally in the Crooked arena we showcase exclusive DJ sets from Krafty Kuts, Freestylers, Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrem, Utah Saints and Elite Force. They’ll be joined by fellow DJs Woodsy, Reveal and Honeycombe.
