Tijs Verwest, known as DJ Tiësto, was born in Breda, the Netherlands. He started DJing professionally at school and house parties in the early 1980s, and then moved on to become a resident DJ between 1985 and 1993 at several clubs in The Netherlands. It was at a club called ‘The Spock’ where things really picked up for Tiësto. He stopped producing hardcore/gabber tracks and started to produce his own sound from 10pm until 4am on weekends. In the mid 1990s, Tiësto started to produce trance . He has soon abandoned trance to play house.

Dan Stephens and Joe Ray aka Nero are big names in the drum ’n’ bass as well as in the dubstep world. Their first drum ’n’ bass releases on DJ SS's Formation Records already date from 2004. Since then Nero’s tracks have caused quite a commotion, also thanks to the explicit support of DJs Andy C, Grooverider and Friction. Nero's dubstep debut, 'This Way', became one of the best-known dubstep tunes of 2008. The Streets, La Roux, deadmau5 as well as Calvin Harris and Skrillex have used Nero’s remix skills. In 2010 Nero won the Beatport Music Award for Best Dubstep Artist and Best Dubstep Track for ’Act Like You Know’. Last year their debut album, ‘Welcome Reality’, was released on MTA, the label of Chase & Status.

Hitting the scene in early 2009 out of Towcester, UK, Joshua Steele (better known as Flux Pavilion) secured himself a solid stance in the dubstep world. His blend of hard smashing rhythms and manic basslines have certainly gained him an audience. Also as a musician he has incorporated his singing and instrumental talent into his tracks. Well known for his high energy sets, he is being booked home and abroad for his unique take on the dubstep sound. With exclusive plays from the likes of Rusko, Caspa, N-Type, Hatcha, Plastician and all the big names his tunes have been blasted all over the world. After performances alongside N-Type on Rinse and Hatcha on KISS FM, Flux Pavilion is certainly making waves in the dubstep scene and everywhere else. With big plans for Circus Records (Swan-E’s dubstep label) there is no doubt that Flux will continue rise to stardom doing the thing he knows best; smashing dancefloors from here to the moon.

Zedd is an electro-house DJ and record producer from Kaiserslautern, Germany. Born Anton Zaslavski, he was surrounded by a family of musicians, he began playing the piano at the age of four. After several years of learning to master the piano, Anton began playing the drums in a band, and composed and produced numerous rocksongs in his band’s own studio. In 2009 he began producing electronic clubmusic, to much and quick acclaim. After a period of only few months he attained a remarkable level and participated in Beatport’s “Armand Van Helden / Strictly Rhythm Remix Contest”, which he went on to win. This opened up a number of new possibilities for Zedd, and only shortly after, he won his second contest on Beatport, the “Fatboy Slim / Skint Remix Contest”! This was the foundation for several cooperations with artists such as Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Skrillex, Fatboy Slim, Armand Van Helden and labels like mau5trap, Interscope, Atlantic, Strictly Rhythm or Skint Records. His first release “The Anthem” entered the Beatport charts top 20, and even made it to the second place of Track It Down charts. His remix for Skrillex’ ‘Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites’, released on ‘mau5trap recordings’ climbed up the charts to #4 on Beatport and #2 on Beatport’s Electro House charts. Zedd released his single “Shave It” on October 4th 2011 via Beatport under Skrillex’s new label OWSLA. “Shave It” is Zedd’s first single with OWSLA. One of the reasons for this rapid development is undoubtedly Zedd’s unique and highly recognizable style of composition. It stands out as very detailed and carefully produced Electro House, very playful and the same time remarkably catchy.
