SOME VELVET EVENING
A TRIBUTE TO LEE HAZLEWOOD

Sonic Cathedral presents a one-off tribute to one of our favourite artists – the late songwriter, producer and all-round musical maverick Lee Hazlewood, who died in August after a long battle with cancer.

The evening will feature live performances of Lee Hazlewood songs from a host of bands and artists, including Dot Allison, Strange Idols, The Tamborines, The Left Outsides and some very special guests who will be revealed on the night.

We will also be showing a selection of films, including the rarely seen ‘Cowboy In Sweden’ and an intimate and poignant video of Lee’s 78th birthday party, recorded just three weeks before his death, in addition to premiering his last ever recording, a heartbreakingly beautiful collaboration with Icelandic quartet and Sigur Rós collaborators Amiina.

Entry is free, but we will be selling Lee Hazlewood souvenir moustaches and badges and passing a hat around to raise money for the Globe, Arizona branch of the Salvation Army, Lee’s chosen charity, so please give generously.
