What is Solstice Unplugged?
Being connected via technology is pretty cool, but it's not everything. Building upon people's desire to be connected, Solstice Unplugged was brainstormed as an event to bring people together but remove them (briefly) from the tethers of laptops, mobile devices, Twitter, etc. while celebrating the first day of summer.

Find more information about the movement at the Solstice Unplugged PBwiki.

About the event
In the spirit of creating tradition and encouraging unplugging at least two times a year, JJ and I are going to be holding a second Solstice Unplugged event on December 21, 2008 - the first day of winter.

JJ will be celebrating the winter with a small group in SF, but I'm going to be heading home for the holidays and would love to bring in the winter with my friends in Hawaii.

I'm flying in that afternoon, so won't have that much time to make this a huge event, but thinking about BYOB drinks at the beach. Exact venue and exact time are still TBD, so suggestions are welcomed.

You can also RSVP for the event over at Facebook.
