Solstice Sings for the Holidays: Berkeley Finn Hall December 22, 2012

Acclaimed Bay Area women's vocal ensemble Solstice has just released their first holiday recording, "Winter Solstice". The evening's selections include the Spanish Renaissance "A un nino llorando al hielo", several Middle English Christmas texts set by 20th century composer Williametta Spencer, an original arrangement of Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time is Here" from the Charlie Brown Christmas special, and Paul Simon's "Hazy Shade of Winter." The beautiful arrangement of "Silent Night" by Lasse Kontula is sung in Finnish, German, and English.
