Sol & Funk Root in Charlottesville March 1, 2011

On Tuesday March 1st, Sol & Funk Root will perform in Charlottesville VA and the band will include legendary bassist HOUSTON ROSS (has worked with Corey Harris, Tim Reynolds, and others), tastyful drummer NATHAN WEST, and SOL on guitar and vocals.

Sol is a fierce guitarist and soulful singer who has toured around the world with many roots, funk, and blues legends. Sol and his band Funk Root create a unique blend of energetic rock, raw blues, reggae, and funk, all delivered with deep soul.

Sol & Funk Root have performed at many premier festivals and venues across the east coast US, and the band includes musicians that have worked with Jah Works, Hobex, Corey Harris, Mike Zito, Squirrel Nut Zippers and more.

Paying homage to the greats, Sol seeks to push musical boundaries and bring Roots Music to a new generation of listeners.
