We are looking to run a little testers meetup in Oxford in April since Lisa Crispin is over from the States. It's a perfect opportunity to get together with Lisa to talk about testing and maybe do some lightning talks.

The plan is to have a little chill out session at the start to mingle and get to know each other before starting some lightning talks, time dependent on how many people want to do one. If you want to do a talk then let me know, although you are also welcome to turn up on the night and do one. A heads up would be good though if you can. I know myself and Lisa will be doing one hopefully.

Please don't be intimidated if you've never done a talk about testing before. The whole point of the gathering is to keep it small and low key and to get people talking about testing. You will be welcomed in to a relaxing and positive environment and anyone wanting to talk will be supported by like minded people. So please do think about having a go at doing a talk if you can.

A lightening talk is usually about 5 minutes and it can be on any topic you want, as long as it's related to testing.... :) It is unlikely there will be a projector, but I am hoping there will be a flip chart or blackboard/whiteboard. I'll post out more details nearer the time.

If we don't have enough volunteers then we'll form some smaller groups and maybe do an Open Space session, or maybe see how the mood takes us and do something impromptu.

After the talks there will be time to kick back and talk testing again, probably until closing time.

One other thing. We are looking for sponsors for the event to cover the room hire costs and maybe bung some cash behind the bar for a few drinks. Drop me an email rob @ softwaretestingclub (dot) com if you'd be interested in sponsoring the event.

As per usual with Software Testing Club stuff there will be plenty of photos, a few blogs, lots of tweets and probably a post event eBook or something like that.

It's a great opportunity for testers of all skills and abilities (Testing Club members or not) to get together and chat about testing.

Oh yes. It's also worth mentioning that it's FREE!
