SocialEats is a collection of 'open' dinner parties, run by hosts with a passion for food and entertaining. Hosts prepare and share a meal with guests who show up with an appetite. Anyone is invited to attend. It's a great place to meet interesting and fun people and enjoy a great meal.

Mardi Gras is on the 20th, but Cajun food can be enjoyed anytime. Those of us who can't make it to New Orleans, Rio, or Venice can instead enjoy:

Shrimp Remoulade - There are many, many remoulade recipes; mine's got oil, lemon juice, and paprika.

Jambalaya - Crawfish, alligator, andouille sausage, rice, and peppers. I'll keep the spice low and let people make it as hot as they want. (Fun fact: Cajun jambalaya, as opposed to Creole jambalaya, has no tomatoes. Thanks, Wikipedia!)

Bananas Foster - Baked, flambed bananas, served over vanilla ice cream. Don't get nervous, I've done this before. :)

To Drink:
Various Dixie Brewing Beers
Prosecco, for those who don't drink beer
Chicory Coffee
