Take your social skills to the next level to deeply influence people and build the life you want! Did you know that over active listening makes you look like a bobble head? How aware are you about what your technology use is doing to inhibit your communication with others? Is assertiveness something you handle gracefully – or is it sometimes difficult to know exactly how to do it while maintaining, or even strengthening, the relationship with the other party?

If you are already socially fluent and want to evolve to another level, moving towards social mastery will empower you. Confidence is a result of having skills that are developed and mastered by consistent practice. This course provides you an opportunity to build on your existing skills in a highly interactive environment, locking in fluency through practice, repetition and feedback.

Here is what we’ll cover in this two-session class, with optional fieldwork at an area networking event after the class has ended – so you can put your new learning into practice right away!

1. Building Advanced Rapport With Others

The Art of Assertiveness – Taking your communication skills to the next level for maximum influence on people in your work and personal life
Increasing Awareness of Body Language – Understand exactly what you are communicating in a non-verbal way, so you can make more intentional choices about it

2. Exercising Deeper Self-Awareness

GRI Behavioral Assessment – Understanding your communication style, strengths, drives and motivations, how you approach your work and life, and how much you have to adapt in your current roles
(access to this assessment carries on after the date of class and allows ongoing learning opportunities with fellow participants)

3. Neuroscience and the Rewiring of our Brains

Balancing Tech with Human Communication - How we can make conscious and effective choices about our available channels of communication
Neuroscience for the Sexes – The Female Brain, The Male Brain and the Bridge Brain: What you communicate has a lot to do with how you think
*Optional Field Work – Two San Francisco networking events will be chosen for you to attend with one or more Social Fluency instructors and fellow classmates.
*Optional GroupMe Participation – A private group will be set up via this application to support each other in learning between and after class has ended. Instructors are also available to answer any questions.
